Mine are still late HS/early college- maybe it will change less sex overall for this demographic- they seem to be less hos0

I love that you're good with no grandchildren! Too many parents pressure their kids.

In younger generations (millennials and Gen Z), the rates of infidelity among men and women are nearly equal. The gender gap in cheating is most pronounced among older generations, where men were historically more likely to have extramarital affairs.

Do you agree with the research results here? Does it match your experience?

Where is the actual data? Your link is to an op-ed that states some stats that are not specific to age groups and doesn’t support your title.

Studies do show that women are actually less naturally monogamous than men but the linked article does not (instead, it just perpetuates the myth about men needing to spread their seed and bla bla bla).

Read the Vice link just below your post:

“On the higher side, there are reported rates of 50 percent of women admitting they have had intercourse with someone other than their spouse while married. I was surprised to learn that, among people in their 20s, married women outpace married men when it comes to infidelity. Also, in several US studies, male and female rates of infidelity are much closer than we’d imagine.”

Equality of infidelity stands.

This is good news. The GenX women I typically pull are getting a bit old for my tastes, so I've been turning my attention to the younger generations. Happy hunting everyone!

I think Gen Z just isn’t feeling commitment and monogamy. They are getting married at a much lower rate as well as a rise of non committal “situationships”.

DP. But staying single has nothing to do with having children.

I am a demographer and I can write a book about this. There are many reasons one of which is economics.

Say more. I get economics for why gen zs arent buying homes, but how does that affect commitment?

I think most of this is due to women's financial independence. In previous generations, women were financially dependent on their husbands, so you better turn a blind eye to your husband's cheating and not cheat yourself, for fear of being kicked out and on the streets with your kids.

Nowadays we're at this weird in-between stage where men still act like men of previous generations - lazy, low EQ, uninvolved, etc - so their wives don't want them anymore. Their wives can also cheat/divorce and still be okay because they have their own money.

Hopefully this will sort itself out in a couple more generations, as men have to step up in order to keep women interested.

So basically men never had morals and now the women caught up.

Sounds like now that the consequences of such aren’t death or squalor, both men and women are exhibiting the normal human behavior of serial monogamy.

It’s advantageous to be a single mother on paper.

Ridiculous. Nobody thinks about this, whatever the hell it’s supposed to mean. Being a single parent is a thousand times harder than being partnered.

It just means that either women are being more honest now in polls, or prostitution is on the decline after all, who were men of previous generations having extramarital affairs with?

Their single secretaries?

The single woman is still having an affair if the person they are sleeping with is married. also, I think it’s more likely that men were sleeping with prostitutes or other married women even in our parents generation. very few single women are gonna sleep with a married man. There’s nothing in it for them.
You are so wrong. As someone who cheated for 10 years with a good number of women, half of them were not married. When I started, I assumed as you do that no single woman wants a married man but I learned otherwise.
