Netflix "Biggest Loser" docu-series

Isn't Jillian Michaels suing over this? If so, she obviously doesn't think it was a nothing burger.

Jay: What did you weigh at your heaviest?
Tracey: 254lbs
Jay: And what size is that in clothing?
Tracey: Size 22

I knew vanity sizing existed, but I thought that was for regular sizes - my heaviest was 254 and I was wearing 18-20. That is really the only thing that surprised me.

When Biggest Loser aired, I watched enough to know I couldn't watch - Jillian Michaels screaming in people's faces? Telling them to keep going when they're puking and collapsing? Where was the doctor?! I knew instinctively that was not healthy for them.

I'm not sure why you found it surprising? This woman might have been taller or shorter than you. She may have carried weight in a different part of her body. She may have had less muscle mass than you. She may have just preferred a looser fit of clothing than you like to wear. There are many things that will affect your body shape/size/clothing size besides just weight in pounds.

They are all ghastly people these producers and trainers.

Jillian has been posting her receipts on instagram.

Many people who lose significant amounts of weight gain most of it back (and sometimes more). Possibly because the way they lost it was unsustainable, like on this show, but also because of how fat cells work. It's not solely a motivation issue.

If you ever want to be entertained rewatch some of the early Survivor episodes. I mean they were openly calling gay people all kinds of names you wouldn't hear today. It's weird to think of the early 2000s as a time where it was still OK to do and say some pretty awful things out loud.

The sessions where they had the people gorge on food were awful. Makes no sense at all unless the point is to ridicule fat people and portray them in the modt stereotypical and worst light possible. The show was pure exploitation.

What has she been saying?

Well she did post screenshots of the texts she sent Bob after his heart attack wondering why he wasn’t responding to her overtures so there’s that.

Producers of the documentary series were angry Jillian refused to participate in it so I think a lot of this is spiteful producers determined to make her look bad.

I guess I found it surprising because most mainstream fashion things don't apply to me as a fat person.

Honestly everyone involved in the show looked bad, I don’t think Jillian came out any worse than Bob.

I'm appalled that I ever watched it. Really did not understand how abusive they were, and I had no memory at all of their weird, manipulative "challenges." I had completely forgotten about Alison Sweeney, who shrunk throughout the time she was hosting. And I thought Bob came off HORRIBLY. (Of course, Jillian, too.)

Well, hating on fat people and discrimination against fat people is sometimes said to be the last acceptable way to be discriminatory. These were grown adults with no cognitive disabilities- and they didn't choose to say "I won't tolerate you screaming at me, so I'm leaving." They stayed, knowing they would take more of Jillian's abuse. Why? Because that's how desperate fat people are to lose weight, and the results kept rolling in.

I think their unwillingness to advocate for themselves reflects their desperation to lose weight and the lack of self esteem that many had/have. Also you see how punitive Bob was to the one woman who almost died ignoring him and listening to the doctor.

Everyone who made this show is a literal monster who just continue to justify this behavior.
