Lol. How, exactly? |
Illegal immigrants are a net fiscal drain, meaning they receive more in government services than they pay in taxes. This result is not due to laziness or fraud. Illegal immigrants actually have high rates of work, and they do pay some taxes, including income and payroll taxes. The reason that illegal immigrants are a net drain is that they have a low average education level, which results in low average earnings and tax payments. It also means a large number qualify for welfare programs, often receiving benefits on behalf of their U.S.-born children. This is also true for less-educated and low-income U.S. citizens. |
I lived in DC for fifteen years in a higher crime area, receiving all the automated text messages to be on the lookout for such and such description. I can unequivocally say that DC crime is pretty much never immigrants. I am sure they will pull out some random arrest to say HERE LOOK AT THIS! But that would be a rare exception. There seem to be nonlocals here because anyone local to DC knows this. Gangs like MS-13 are in suburban areas like Fairfax county where some very violent crime has occurred, but MS-13 is not within DC. |
