How would you time the SAT tests for this rising junior?

Ds wanted took it twice then wanted to wait till end of Junior year after AP English language .
He never took any SAT courses.

3 kids- 2 Ivies- took spring of Junior/fall of Senior year. This is what the college counseling offices advised and it worked well.
