I carry books in my trunk. I fill these LFL everywhere. Also, give to homeless shelter, community book shelves in apartment buildings, listserv, my friends etc. I also donate to libraries in small towns. Google public libraries. If the books are appropriate for school children - you can give to PTA or media centers in schools.

You can post on trash nothing or buy nothing before you recycle. If you’re lucky someone will just come get all of them.

Here's a link to AARP's suggestions:

In addition, you might check to see if there are any public nursing homes or rehab centers in your neighborhood. They will sometimes take books especially as many of the patients have hours to kill between PT and OT sessions.

Try a different library? My local library takes them, and twice a year they have a book sale where they sell them to support the library.

The local buy nothing groups seem to be interested in only children's stuff or wall deco, everything else gets ignored.
In Sept is a big yard sale day for the neighborhood, so I'll stick them out there with a free sign to see if any get taken. Then they'll head for the recycle bin.

I had two boxes of advance readers copies of books that no one was going to want. I posted them on Facebook marketplace for free and someone came and picked them up. I think she was using them for craft projects.

Bless you.

Little Free libraries don't need anymore 1940's text books. They're all filled with trash.

Put them out in your front yard or on the curb with a sign that says free. If it rains, put a tarp on them. After a week, if you can’t find a place to donate, toss them.

If they want them - you'd have to ask. But I've donated old text books and other books to jails that said they wanted them.
