Thanks! I'll try and see. United Healthcare and Hopkins are battling about costs, so I might not have Hopkins starting in August or will have to pay cash.

Does your plan allow a good amount of flexibility with providers? I once couldn’t get a timely specialist appt for one of my kids and it was urgent so we went to NYU Langone. Might be worth calling around to a bunch of locations if you would rather for your peace of mind.

“Suspicious” according to whom? If that’s based on a screening mammogram, IME they should be able to get you in sooner. Otherwise, agree with PPs - waiting a few weeks (not months) is pretty standard.

This “I maybe sick and it’s not acceptable to make me wait!!” sounds so entitled. I hope it’s nothing OP but you have to wait just like everyone else.

September isn't months away on my calendar...it's just a couple of weeks. Take a chill pill and stop freaking out.

3-4 weeks is not a bad wait time honestly.

I called another radiology company. They said they can't use the film from the first company and they are scheduling 5-8 weeks out just for a diagnostic test.

Anyone else in a similar boat? This is nuts.

Why is it nuts? You have to wait for your turn. September is only next month.

She has a suspicious lump, PP. While most are benign, as someone with BC I can assure you that her concerns are valid. “Wait your turn?” How many threads to you s**t on daily? Do better.

Have you tried Community Radiology, OP? Also, I would call your OB to see if they can get anything expedited on your behalf.

It’s not a mammo callback. She has a lump.

Seconding community radiology, they have a ton of locations so if you're willing to drive you can be seen much sooner.

Healthy adults generally have no idea how health care works in this country. Typically, childbirth is the first encounter a healthy adult has with a hospital and for many, I'd they have an uncomplicated pregnancy and delivery, that only scratches the surface.

A few weeks wait, or a few months, is normal. And if there is an indication of urgency, then OP will be seen sooner.

Do you own a calendar? September is in 3 weeks.

I had to wait 4 weeks for my biopsy this is typical. I was not offered a second scan.

I also had breast cancer. Nothing happens immediately. From my suspicious screening mammogram to my first appointment with the surgeon was 11 weeks.

Is it really necessary to be derisive toward someone who is worried about her health? Why the snark? FFS, it takes so little to be kind. But you, and PPs, cannot manage it.

Wow, that wasn’t my experience. I guess I was (relatively) lucky.

I’m sorry OP. It’s maddening to wait, and no one in healthcare seems to have much of a sense of urgency.
