Should I feel guilty about my expensive drug?

No guilt required. You're not the greedy company charging that amount. Its disgraceful.

The company that makes the drug probably pay the CEO over $1 million per year. The company that makes the drug also employ at least 2 lobbyists that spend many times the monthly cost of that drug on getting Congress to do what they want.

The drug probably costs less than $50 to make each month but because of the insurance companies, PBMs and corporate pharmacies all needing a cut, you are being told it costs over $5000 per month.

What does it cost in other countries?

100% this. I don’t feel a shred of guilt for the thousands of $$ my kids life sustaining drugs cost. Anger, sure but guilt has never crossed my mind.

Does being cruel to OP online keep your sadistic tendencies in check? So now you won’t get in public breaks, kick your dog, etc?

You sound very thoughtful, OP. I think the problem is with the system, not with you. We need more people like you who think about (and vote for) society at large and not just what benefits them personally. But please keep taking the medicine guilt free.
