Club lacrosse costs - boys

Yes I think overhead at True is getting to be ridiculous. 4 directors just for NOVA?
The player packs are ludicrous

Maybe that is why the Yorktown and SSSA jobs are open? Get what you pay for

Agreed. My kid doesn’t need $24 socks

I think they misunderstood when people said they didn’t want to place 10 separate orders and just wanted to do it all at once. They didn’t mean they wanted to be forced to but $300 worth of merch.

Misunderstood or just using that as an excuse to make a profit off their customers?

Have now had 2 go through it and get to play in college, but if you are counting dollars at middle school, just wait - it gets worse. Club seasonal dues are the least of it. The travel costs like showcases, college clinics, hotels, flights, etc. are where the real costs add up. Do this because your child loves it and you get a chance to spend more time with them and their friends. Do not do it for any anticipated 'return on investment' cause the chances of landing any sort of meaningful scholarship are unlikely. Roster limits, nationwide growth of the game and simple math, are against you. Suggestion for those talking to ML, DCE, True, etc., is not where have you placed your clubs' kids - because all of them claim the kids placed, but being honest there is a lot of luck involved in the process. You actually want to ask early on what type of program do you see my DD or DS thriving at in college. And then you need to be honest with yourself, if the coach spins a story about D1 top 30 program, but then doesn't start or meaningfully play them, odds are he's just telling you what you want to hear to keep the dollars flowing. Enjoy the ride.

4 directors now? They need to get rid of them all and start fresh. True is green for a reason, all dat money!

We have three boys who play on multiple club teams. Our lacrosse budget for 2025-26 is a tad over $30k between tuition, hotels, gear, and travel.

I have two boys playing club. Been doing it for 6+ years, and my mantra has always been to never add it up.

Probably for the best, although we can't think of a better way to spend money.

Yes, so it's like an extra tuition.

Good perspective. If your expecting a return on investment, you won't be happy. But, if your looking at it as an investment in your child's passion, spending time with them, and enjoying the view of them growing up, then it's simply a personal decision on how you want to spend your money.
