Above also is what I did. Its pretty simple in Virginia.

There is one advantage to having a registered agent for any home based business. One can avoid having a million places list one's home address as the business address that way. PO Boxes are usually disallowed as the registered business address.

Not exposing your home location is worth a lot.

This is useful. Is there a registered agent you recommend?

I've been freelancing on the side. I have one main client and am paid by them as a freelancer but they have referred me to others, so I think it is time to start a LLC.

I used Tailor Brands. Beware of the bogus "bills" you will get in the mail after you form your LLC. Scammers get you info and send you things that look like government entity bills but they are frauds.
