If you’re living on JBAB I’d also look at getting into Hyde Addison. A first grade spot may be possible even with a post lottery add. There’s a bus from JBAB to and from daily, so commuting won’t even be an issue and you’re guaranteed a dozen or so school friends on base. I am not sure though if there are two afternoon buses though - definitely one that leaves at 3:25 for normal dismissal but I don’t think I’ve seen one after that. So, while I’m pretty sure there would be an aftercare (Champions) spot for your child if you want it, you may not be able to use the bus to get home.
In addition to having neighborhood school friends, if you end up stationed here for more than four years the middle school is usually preferred over Eliot Hine and Stuart Hobson. Good luck and welcome to DC! |
