Fwiw we had our return flight from San Juan delayed from the morning to the evening and I know another family who had the same thing happen. I think they consolidate if the early flight isn’t full. We ended up stuck at the airport all day waiting. Never again, jet blue.

I will share that years ago our JetBlue flight to DC from PR was cancelled due to polar vortex. This was over the Christmas holidays, and it cancelled pretty much all flights to all destinations. They couldn’t rebook the three of us for 7 days. It did end up reimbursing us for rental car and paying a per diem for hotel and food. Didn’t cover all of our costs but most. Again this was a huge disruption to JetBlue entire PR operations. Extraordinary circumstance.

I had a flight cancelled until the next day in Paris and United put me up in a hotel for the night. Free night in Paris although I spent most of the extra time at the airport waiting for them to book everything.
