Blond to cover gray?

It’s not perfect but it’s fine if you don’t want to sit in a salon for hours and spend hundreds of dollars a month

I would like to have blonde (over gray) hair like Jill Biden. Love hers but not sure how to get it…

What do you mean, all blond on the bottom?

I have medium brown shoulder length hair with gray at the temples. I would like to go for a big change - lots of blond, with the ultimate effect of covering the gray and *looking years younger* of course.

Does this work?

If I do this, Am I doomed to sit in the colorists' chair for ever after?

I am 60.

TY

Blonde…. Leave the bu$h alone.

No one under 79 should have a bush

I finally gave up this past fall and went back to dying it brown to match my original hair color. I know this sounds silly, but I did not realize how absolutely fried my hair was. I'm planning to grow it out (I have chin length hair and am halfway there) and see what I want to do then.

And yes, it's expensive. Not to mention the time.

My hair was SO fried after just a few sessions of blonde highlights. I am letting the gray grow out. Almost done!

I think for starters she was a platinum blonde as a child/teen/young adult.

I am in my 50s and am a graying platinum blonde. My hair now is a mix of blonde & gray, with some red & light brown, but mostly blonde. My hair dresser says not to touch it -- "it will turn all silver on its own and be stunning." I honestly don't have the patience to deal with coloring, highlights, etc., so that's my approach. It has been evolving over the last 10 years. I've had several people ask me who does my color.

I had never really thought about the color of Jill's hair, but it really is lovely.

Was it because you were lightening it with peroxide before you colored? If so, you might find that a one-step color process for just brown is much easier on your hair.

All over brown looks aging and fake on many women. And then of course your roots show immediately. Blonde looks better and grows out better but fries your hair. It is a lose-lose proposition. Now I spend my hair color budget on shoes and fancy pajamas

She would look fine as a blonde. The problem (apart from the cheating) is that she clearly hasn't had her hair done in months.

It will likely have to be done in several appts months apart, if you want hair to stay heathy
