I think a lot of CHRVA clubs like the Richmond tournament because it’s an overnight tournament that is relatively easy to get to and on a 3 day weekend (unlike many qualifiers that require missing school). The other multi day tournaments that CHRVA teams have traditionally gone to that weekend are the one at Spooky Nook in Lancaster, City of Oaks in Raleigh, and JVA Rock n Rumble in Cleveland. I suppose there might be an opportunity to have something local to attract some teams, but getting enough teams to commit to something new to make it financially viable might be tough. Perhaps the St James could host something but they already do their St Patrick’s Day AAU tournament. The level of competition at a given tournament can vary from year to year. Metro Travel teams used to go to Rock n Rumble every year but the level of teams really dropped off a few years ago and last year they went to City of Oaks instead and that’s what they’re doing this year. |

So far, STJ tournaments seem to lack high level competition. They do sell beer though.
If those events in other areas offer different teams that’s cool but still see across the spreadsheet so many VBJ attendees. Nice to go but it’s out of the region which makes the fact you play a bunch of teams from CHRVA even more odd. What did you observe as you filled out the spreadsheet? |

I'm heading out on a recruiting trip with my DD, so I may not get in any more updates until I return.
I just added VAE's pretty fee numbers.

VAE has brought back their free agent page for the upcoming season:
https://www.vaelite.com/free-agents I haven't had to use this for my player, but seems like a good resource for families who may still be looking for a good fit for their player. |
