Mls Next schedule release

Real issue - OP prob didn't make it to MLS Next. If you play for MLS Next you would already know the rules up front. Stop trolling behind the computer.

Scheduling is a bit trickier for this coming season—more travel in a shorter period of time. The MLSNext season needs to be completely wrapped up in May 2026 (including MLSNext Cup Playoffs and Showcase, which typically take place in mid-June).

Apparently there is some football event in the states next summer impacting the schedule.

We were told to block off two 4 day back to back weekends at the end of April/start of May for travel to the DMV - which makes sense now if they are going to condense the post-season.

Two four days weekends of skipping school on Fri and Mon? Yikes

Clutch those pearls!!!

The World Cup probably won’t cycle back stateside for another 30 years. I think the kids will be okay just this once.

Also, they prohibit children from representing their HS. How’s this legal let alone moral and ethical? Are parents so spineless they won’t stand up for themselves?

Is this sarcasm?

Part of the problem is this poster. Willing to let an outside agency dictate what their child can or can’t do with their private life.

It was clear for everyone going into MLSNext league -- no high school. If you want to play HS then don't join a club that plays in this league. It wasn't a bait and switch situation. They were up front about it in the rules.

False sense of entitlement and expected privilege leads one to believe the rules they don't like doesn't apply to them

And honestly, what are they going to do about it? My DS will play for his mls next club and his high school.

Football isn’t a right, entitle much?

If you play MLS Next, there is little to gain from playing high school. It’s a headache, injury risk, and major drop in competition. Have fun not following the rule . . . it will get you nowhere meaningful.

You will play the same teams you played last year

Your cliche canned standard belittling subjective opinion is outdated - kids will make memories playing for their school with the friends they’ve grown up with and cherish those more than a weekend away from home in another tourney

Actually it seems this post is outdated. Kids who play MLS NeXT aren’t allowed to play high school sports, especially at public schools.

My kid grew up playing at Bethesda SC with mostly the same teammates from U7 to U18 with several away tournament trips

Those memories are less than HS soccer memories?

My daughter does TopLevelFutbol.com The coach is incredible. It's travel. They always win. And it's not crazy intense.

Except having fun with their high school buddies and making memories that will likely last longer than most of their football careers, Messi’s dad.

Who care's about memories when you can get gaslit into thinking you are on a path to the pro's.
