Best to live abroad in 5th grade or 6th grade?

5th. 6th grade is intro to middle and lots of social connections are made that year as well as identification for advanced math etc.

5th is old hat grade school and kids are all sick of the same kids. 5th grade was my daughters Covid school year and from talking to lots of parents and seeing my older one - it was almost negligible to miss it compared to almost any other year.

5th, primarily for social reasons. But it also avoids any potential issues with high school credits and transcripts for 6th grade foreign language. That stuff’s just a pita and can come up with college applications.

5th as others have said it will be better to start 6th grade at the same time as most others in her grade. She'll have the experience of having to make new friends and have a really cool experience under her belt.
