Is white or cream (even a print) off limits for a baby shower guest?

Someone asked to borrow money for a dress for a garden party baby shower. I offered to loan a dress instead. It is a floral print on a white background. She said only the mother to be wears white. I just wanted to confirm that this was BS.

Omg! Toootal BS. Choosy beggar just about sums it up!

This is not a thing. The rule about wearing white applies to weddings. And if any ass clown is trying to tell you, there is a rule about baby showers, I think it’s time to decline the invitation and back away slowly.

Haha, you totally called her out on her scam. Do not lend this person money. She is probably making up the baby shower for sympathy.

I agree with every answer so far.

But, I think that the generation that a pregnant woman having a baby shower would be from is very into dictating color schemes for parties, bachlorettes, etc so maybe this is an imposed color scheme by the mother to be or her peer shower hosts?

It might be a theme for that specific party. That doesn't mean all showers are that way.

As long as you don't show up with a visible diaper and a paci in your mouth, I think you're fine wearing white to a baby shower.
