You just need to embrace it -- it honestly was a blast. We had a terrific tour guide, and it was just our family. Don't knock it until you try it!

It depends on where you are. In the mountains it is cooler. If coastal you get the trade winds. San Juan is lots of buildings so hotter. But it’s way better than being in the hot summers of DC!

We enjoyed Princesa for traditional food and rum. It is down by the cruise terminal, so do try to make reservations for days when there are no ships in port or after passengers have to be back on board.

Drunken Cookie and Deaverdura for sure. El Morro is nice and the market in the square next door is nice as well.
