Why? Why would these supposedly uber successful young geniuses with a million other opportunities want to toil in a federal agency basement every day pouring over IT contracts, when they don’t even get to work for EM (which was the draw to begin with)?

And why would the agency heads (who presumably have loyalty to DT) allow them now?

You are incorrectly assuming DOGE was a Musk idea when it was really a Vought idea and that super villain is still alive and well.
