Two weeks after panel interview

I had a gap like that between interview rounds even though they said they were "moving quickly." But spring break vacations (not all aligned) made scheduling internal meetings hard on their end.

I’m hoping that’s the situation. It’s summer and a hybrid office. They want these interviews to happen in person but staff is only together one day a week and people take vacations. So if they’re trying to interview four candidates, it could take a while. The CEO seemed pretty urgent about hiring someone quickly (“yesterday”) but that could be wishful thinking. Trying to stay positive.

Totally wishful thinking. Even if the top candidate were internal, our office would need at least a month to interview other candidates, rank, meet to discuss, etc. We don’t update candidates in the middle of the process, only when an offer has been accepted and the start date is known.

This is similar to my corporation. And this particular time of year is when a lot of people are on vacation (right around July 4). You won't lose your ranking by waiting another week before checking in with the recruiter again.
