Need Advice: Fed w/ 24+ years and just reached MRA. Don't know what I should do

DW is the flip of this. She has 30 years, but she's only 55. I guess she has to get to age 57, regardless.

What should I do? Be looking out for? Or, should I just sit still?

Thanks in advance.

Typical fed worker. Does no research on his own, asks other people to do the work.

You sound dim. No matter how resourceful an individual is, crowdsourcing questions is research and is wise.

DCUM has been a key information source for me for many years. I doubt I'm alone in that.

So, in short, stfu.

Read here, https://www.opm.gov/retirement-center/publications-forms/csrsfers-handbook/c044.pdf.

For most people at MRA and less than 30 years, DSR during RIF is best option unless VERA is offered. If a VERA is offered there will be info sessions. But if you can stand it, wait for VERA or the actual RIF.

--FYI this link didn't work for me but I was able to access the relevant chapter from https://www.opm.gov/retirement-center/publications-forms/csrsfers-handbook/ . Thanks for posting this!!

Um, that is not how it works

Getting the F out of federal government is always a good idea. A mind is a terrible thing to waste.

I’ll wait until I have 30.

Update your résumé in your LinkedIn just in case.

No severance if eligible for a DSR. DSR at 57 with 24 years of service isn't a bad deal though.

Stay until you are either forced or ready to go.
