ADHD DD (9 years old) constantly seeking physical contact

I have a similar kid and he loves his trampoline. Anyone who tells you not to do OT is wrong. Please ignore them. Talk to your pediatrician if you need confirmation. The person tweeting you to use a behavioral privaten was particularly wrong.

This. She is seeking deep pressure and joint compressions and, in general, the kinds of input that help her understand where her body is in physical space. She's touching others by accident because she doesn't know where her own body is, or on purpose because she's seeking pressure to orient herself. She lacks the impulse control to stop, due to the ADHD. You need a special needs OT.

Meanwhile, try these stretchy bands. https://a.co/d/8L59FGG They go under her chair at school, for her to push against, but she can use them however she likes. They may provide the input she is craving.

DS doesn’t have ADHD but was constantly sensory seeking. We did years of OT and it was very helpful.
