Come on. A diaper party??? Where does it end?

I have never heard of this. Just have a party for your friends. And yes you pay if you host.

i have known about many diaper parties. it is like a shower for the dad, but everyone just brings diapers. the dad pays for the food. the guys bring diapers.

no one bats an eye at the mention of a diaper party.

you all are fun suckers!

Has he ever hosted a diaper party for another friend? If yes, he can hint to that person to just one for him.

It's not a thing to host your own "shower" - at least get a family member to do it. But you can't ask someone to host and de facto ask them to pay for it.

Of course, but someone else is supposed to throw the party for you--you don't host your own shower.

If none of OP's Dh's friends have offered to host his "diaper party" so he should NOT throw one for himself. It is perfectly acceptable to just host a "come over and watch the game because we'll be too busy with baby stuff in the foreseeable future" party, if he just wants to do that.

Who are you and where are you this is a thing where "no one bats an eye at a diaper party?" As you can see on this thread you are a real outlier.

This. We had a coed not a baby shower. It was well attended. No gifts requested, many asked for registry and several brought diapers anyway. It was even a potluck.

Really fab day with friends. I was glad we didn’t worry about the “rules”.

Have him send invites and get a bbq catering.

It won't end there. OP will also want a "push" present.
