Anyone else's car's air conditioning struggling today?

Make sure the climate control is set to recirculate, not outside air. Automatic climate control would normally use recirculate in this weather, but it might have been overridden by a button push, intentional or not.

Modern vehicles don't use Freon either. Just call it "AC coolant" or the tech name/numbers if you take it to a shop. If they hear you say "freon" they will know they got a customer who can be overcharged.

The honest mechanics won't.

I chuckled. That's funny.
Any mechanics in present company excluded of course!

That's too bad you have never found one but it doesn't mean they don't exist. We found ours through word of mouth.

You need a Ford. American made and includes our favorite luxury item: obnoxious AC.

My Ford Mustang Mach E has an amazing air conditioning compared to me wife’s new 2025 Forester.

Does anyone know if non-working A/C is covered under a one-year used car warranty. I don't see any details in the paperwork.

Has anyone resolved this issue? What is the fix?

Car is 9 years old. AC feels fine, even too cold at times, when leaving from garage in AM or PM. But never seems to get very cold if car has been sitting out in sun for a while.

how is your ac setting? recycled air or outside freshair? does it eventually get cooler after a few min?

You can check that the fans in the very front of your car are spinning when you look under the hood. My Honda minivan has 2 fans and one was broken so it couldn’t cool on a hot day while at a standstill. It took me years to figure out the problem. The dealer failed to identify the problem during several visits.

Thank you, I will try and take a look at this!

I have tried both settings and "auto" climate as well. Seems to get a little cooler, but not significantly cooler, when it's been sitting in the hot sun. When starting from the garage when it isn't as hot, though, the air feels a lot colder.

If you pull the AC Fuse or pull battery cables it will cause AC to reset to factory settings. and often fixes issue.

Older cars use Freon

If they see someone drive up in a modern car, they will know they got a customer who can be overcharged.
