You said that a year ago and it didn't work out for you. |
| For starters yes, head coach is a huge problem, then you have an AD who is not doing his job along with feckless senior leadership who have received complaints from dozens of families across multiple years and have not done their jobs. |
No clue about any of the backstory, just based on the product on the field this season for the 4 games I saw them play, and they looked really poorly coached. Not just hero ball but bad hero ball (shots either to the goalie’s crosse or embarrassingly wide, with no backup); minimal passing, terrible clears and rides. That’s all coaching; it’s not like they had a public school roster of kids new to the game. |
Exactly. This is a roll the ball out type of.tournament. Sure, you want to do well but probably spend.minimal.amount of time on this. |
I thought their head coach was supposed to be really good. No? |
| Sounds like a troll or a scorned GP dad upset with son's lack of PT, or both. Coach went 54-14 over previous 4 seasons. And AD has been there for decades while boys lax won multiple IAC titles. Not sure they are the problem. |
| LOL, PT is not an issue. You need to spend a few years with the team to get it. The coach inherited the Giblin teams and then the DC Dogs...he was set for a few years. As recruiting has waned the depth is not there. They have some great players. A great group of young men who deserve better than a coach who is lazy and does just enough to get by. |
| If anyone has watched a Georgetown prep game in the last four years, you’d see what a clown show it really is. Sparky the Clown driving Porsche 911. Tons of elite level talent and yet they get blown out by Saint Christopher. Worst loss in Georgetown prep history. Don’t have a kid in the program, but had two go through in the past. A lot of kids that would matriculate to prep are going elsewhere because of the coaching and the lack of recruiting, they should be killing everybody else in those departments with their facilities, history, and resources. No excuse. |
The ironic thing is that they both suck. |
|
Landon is on the up-swing.
McGettigan and the Bears were very average his first two seasons but Landon has clearly made some big strides. Landon this year in particular didn’t have any real fire power on offense (Bullis was a more talented team) but Landon’s coaching is seeing to nobody in the area. Prep sucked this year , perhaps the worst Lil Hoyas squad in the past 20 years. |
|
Landon very likely will not be as good next year, but I can nearly guarantee they will be better than expected. Prep may very well win the IAC next year, but they will not be "better than expected." Prep is a glorified Club Team these days. Is that the Prep coaching staff doing a good job being "Players' Coaches" or not coaching. Bullis is now notorious for bringing in some transfer talent. Don't count them out.
The Bullis coach and the Landon coaches are good at their jobs, I don't care what anyone says. |
|
Prep on paper will be the favorite to win the IAC ship. Landon and Bullis graduated a ton.
EHS will be better and mad lax guy will do anything possible to promote them. Over in the WCAC, it’s boom or bust for GC. Falcons on paper will likely be the favorite coming out of the Catholic league, followed by the Cadets. Different note, why did the SJC offensive coordinator part ways from Military Rd after just one season - he moved to the DC area from Jacksonville FL. |
|
Prep brings in 5th year players and reclasses them as juniors or seniors. Recruits players from all over the country with its dorms.
But yet the Hoyas love to call out St Johns for aggressive recruiting behavior. |
Was worried about you guys, didn't think it would take this long. SJC is an afterthought for the IAC now. Start a WCAC thread and preseason rank yourselves #1. |
| SJC is living rent free in your head |
