And this makes school punch well above weight for athlete placement, and on par with the top nescacs. Anyone able to speak to veracity of this?

I dont know what this means. Its T20 SLAC with a published COA of $95k. It BETTER have an excellent alumni network.

Why is a college with poor research opportunities and limited classes over $95,000?!

This site will allow you to compare W&L to other colleges by general career outcomes:

https://wallethub.com/edu/e/college-rankings/40750

By this measure, W&L placed 25th nationally. As example bases of comparison, Hamilton placed 59th, Amherst placed 91st and Middlebury placed 124th.

The only person I knew well who went there went to work in finance, but at a southern regional bank. The other (I was set up on a date with) had the last name Oppenheimer, as in the financial firm.

The coach is correct (my DC also considered playing a sport at W&L so we looked into it). My DC works in IB in New York, and there are a couple of people in DCs relatively small class from W&L. My older relative is entrenched in the private equity world in LA and has never lived on the east coast and said that W&L has one of the best alumni networks in private equity.

bingo - this is 1000% true - small community but incredibly loyal alumns - will help any kid who reaches out

What’s your experience with the school that leads you to say that?

Sure you bum.

My experience is with generations of family members who’ve attended and personal experience touring with my first dad. I don’t think it’s that impressive and nothing has led me to believe otherwise.
Haters can take it or leave it.

W&L is somewhat of an odd school from asocial perspective. Prospective students need to visit when school is in session & talk to current students. Has gone through a lot of difficulty in the past regarding campus culture and social environment. definitely a fit school, but about 10% receive full tuition plus scholarships. These students tend to come from very different backgrounds then the one percenters.

a nice liberal arts school - nothing special certainly nowhere near the prestige of Williams or Amherst. Sports alumns probably help out at 2nd tier firms or back office jobs. The Bucknell of the South

For finance, there's a few schools better at recruiting these days than Amherst. Amherst is losing its grip on finance outcomes.
