Move the St Paul Park area of Town of Kensington to the Einstein cluster to relieve crowding at WJ

In option 1, WJ is no longer overcrowded.

Einstein is severely overcrowded. That would not work.

Stop sending my kid to the HS that is the furthest from their home! Like I said in another thread, we live more than 3 miles from WJ. We are closer to Einstein but currently Wheaton is our home school. Woodward is 2.4 miles away. Clearly you’ve never driven from Holiday Park or Randolph Hills to WJ to understand how ridiculous this idea is.

Viers Mill parents are still angry from losing Title 1 status due to the incompetence of MCPS CO and now we’re pissed that our 4th graders will have to switch middle schools between 6th and 7th grade. The idea of sending our kids to WJ is ludicrous! Stop shopping for FARMS kids and leave us alone!!!

You can't just shift Viers Mill to WJ without identifying what will shift out of WJ by doing it.

I think modificaiton of option 4 works best. You put entire Garrett Park in Woodward instead of WJ , put entire Viers Mill in WJ.

Noooo! Viers Mill is closer to Woodward than Garett park. Stop trying to give us your leftovers.

I don't like how they have treated all of the Rosemary Hills ES kids. They should consider the elementary school to be RHES, not NCC or CCES. That would make it less likely they would be split up. They are even split up in option 1, which claims it has not split articulation.

Ehhh WJ still better than Einstein, they will be ok. Those apts have been diversity pawns for decades

The drive is terrible, especially for families without cars. There is no easy public bus route.

Better in what ways? Clearly many of the Einstein families don't feel that way or we would have lived in an area zoned for WJ.

Alright I live in holiday park and the drive to Woodward and WJ really isn’t that far (taking ivy glen/GP to schuykill to Nicholson). I 1000% to not want my kids to walk to Wheaton so that whole “walk zone” is not beneficial to us in my opinion. If this helps with diversifying schools, I am totally on board with it.

Woodward and WJ is 0.6 miles apart. If bus can take them to Woodward then bus can take them to WJ as well.

+1

I live in the area as well. My kids don't really walk to Wheaton as well. If they get a bus to WJ, I am all for it. I don't have to drive them and thye get to attend a better school.

It will be awesome for house prices for us if we become part of WJ. I am all for adding Viers Mill to WJ cluster and having a bus.

A RM parent suggested modification of option 4 by putting Garret Park into Woodward and Viers Mill into WJ. All schools will be below 100% capacity with good diversity in WJ and Woodward both. Distance wise WJ and Woodward are right next to each other so not much time in travel no matter who kids go.

So far, that's the best option I have seen. Hopefully, we get more ideas.
