I got married in Mill Valley. Guests just wore their regular coats over their dresses. If the couple/guests are largely local, they’re not going to be fussy about that stuff.

Expensive warm and slouchy sweater over a slip dress is very Marin. It can be humid and balmy though even when chilly, so something that's breathable is key.
