Maybe y'all should pay for our dry cleaning or student loan reimbursement because the hours needed to be a teacher in this country equates to around minimum wage.

Your clothing is fine, don’t worry about this.

What is important helpful is to learn to be professional and organized. You’ll be dealing with highly educated parents in professional jobs.

1. Spell and grammar check your communication before sending! They don’t expect you to be a legal, medical or science expert but they do expect you to be literate!
2. Be organized in your assessments. If you give Johnny a lower (insert whatever your districts grading scale/assessment) you need to be able to explain it, be clear in what expectations were not met and what the steps are to improve it. Young teachers often can’t articulate the rubric or why they scored something the way that they did.
3. If you do make a mistake, admit and own it. If you dig in even though you know you aren’t correct and it’s obvious, you will be pummeled.
4. Be wary of parents seeking favor. These are the sneaky ones. Nice to your face but viciously trash you behind your back.
5. Do your best to control your classroom. The parents of whichever kid is the victim are unlikely to be docile or absent.
