They do say that there are a handful of insufferable kids of big donors on campus, too, but that this isn't the norm.
I have a kid who just graduated from Yale this describes her, really from her earliest days. As I met many of her friends and college classmates over the last four years, it seems quite apt for all of them as well. She is who she is and we had very little to do with where she ended up.
FWIW my other kid is totally different, just graduated from a much more conventional four years in high school and headed off to a state school he’s super excited about.
