So what happens if Columbia loses accreditation?

This is scary but honestly my overwhelming reaction is--screw them. I'm sending her and writing the check. Trump thinks he can hobble Columbia? No, its mission will go on. We will keep sending our kids and they will keep learning.

You should be more nervous about her opportunities afterwards. Employers have Columbia on the fat no list these days.

Sorry for helping. I see next time I should just be a belligerent a$$hole, since that is all that's preferred here.
It's a serious problem that you should talk to parents about, but yes. bite the hand that's attempting to guide you.
People here truly suck.

My kid is headed to a UC and only applied to instates but is not having second thoughts. He might apply to transfer and Columbia is at the top of his list!

I’m going to treat this like a sincere question even though it is obvious that you do not understand how accreditation works or who controls it.

The only consequence of losing accreditation will be the loss of access to Federal Title IV student aid.

At a trash school, the credits would also become harder to transfer. That is not a danger for Columbia, and especially not while Trump is attacking it.

Go away. The adults are talking.

Columbia is still Ivy - that's a accreditation by itself. As long as the professors are still there - get a good education at a dirt low price.

The Fortune 500 company I work at has no issue with Columbia grads. We hired a few this year and every year

I like how the PP is pretending that those kinds of employers were not employing their own tribal DEI to make hiring decisions long before they got around to their doxxing and tantrum tactics of late.

Does no-one remember Davis Polk rescinding a bunch of applicants with ties to palestine? A majority of companies in the United States are zionist.

Trump claims to care so much about Jews yet has been completely silent about what happened in Colorado. That was a real crime against Jews, much more so than what is happening at Columbia. He just has a personal vendetta against certain schools and his idiot followers are eating it up and twist themselves in knots to justify it.

The fact that this country is under the spell of this psychotic pathetic loser is truly amazing. He is worse than an elementary school bully. Do people really want their kids to be like him. Meanwhile China is completely playing him like the sad moron he is. So sad.

Same with my Am Law 10 firm. We are not shying away from Columbia grads, whether undergrad or law school. This person is delusional.

DP

What are “ties” to Palestine? I always thought that “ties” meant an airtight, direct, documented connection between a person and another person, a region, an entity, whatever … but now, it just seems like radical, extremist Zionists like Loomer use the term to smear anyone who so much as expresses concern over what the global consensus agrees is an ongoing, horrific genocide.

If someone is morally against what’s occurring in Gaza, does that mean they have “ties to Palestine”?

Depends on the organization and hiring managers. I just turned down a Columbia applicant this week. As a double alum (the college and bschool), I have no interest in employing Columbia students. Plenty of great candidates from other schools.
