Isn't your club, team and all the other parents fully informed?

We are registered for the showcase per the clubs instructions and we have a roster. But no info on schedules probably because it isn’t out yet. Also no info on plays offs for U13 or U14

That’s where there is some confusion. The official website says there are no playoffs for U13 & U14, but some are indicating they are taking place.

Hopefully MLS updates their website soon.

There is playoffs for U13 and U14. Email has been sent to coaches. Those teams who qualify would have been notified by now.

Thanks. Why does it seem like the worst open secret at this point? I assumed MLS would issue some type of press release about U13 & U14 age groups being added to the playoffs.

I’m going to guess that it’s a bit controversial still, the idea that playoffs are based on QoP instead of win-lose. That means some teams making the playoffs may have been beaten by teams who are not going to make playoffs. I think that wouldn’t sit well with the players and the parents and perhaps that may affect the clubs ability to retain or attract players.

I think MLS needs to double down and get this out there. They pushed for this, so own it.

I think it’s a very good way to offset the physical advantage brought on by puberty. There is absolutely a competitive advantage during these years. It also speaks to technical proficiency. The algorithm, along with human review of games, measures this.
