How to lose 10-15 pounds

10 to 15 pounds is nothing.

But if you want Ozempic you might want to hurry. Word is it might get restricted soon.

Op - I mean I would love to be down 20-25 pounds but I don’t think I can do that without meds. I weighed 125 pounds when I got married.

I would be fine restricting to around 1000 calories a day. Would that do the trick? Or do I need medication?

Is this your doctor's recommendation? 125 pounds at 5'7'' sounds too skinny and unhealthy to me.

Do strength training instead and love your body as it is now

I actually didn’t count calories. I would serve myself a regular portion and then take about a third off the plate. I did daily HIIT workouts daily (Jillian Michaels) + a 30 minute walk every day, cooked and ate balanced, healthy, but light meals (just ate about 1/3 less than usual at each meal), no snacks or dessert (that’s usual for me), and only very occasional glass of wine. I lost it in about 6 months but have gained back 10 lb. I was in my late 40s at the time. Good luck! You can do it!

But you gained it back. I think it isn't sustainable and op should appreciate her body as she ages. It happens to us all.

It is really not that hard. For people in their late 40s and beyond try to remember the basic stuff they made us do in PE.
Those lame Calisthenics and physical fitness tests.

Well those Calisthenics actually work and work very well in interval form called HIIT.

You only need to eat relatively healthy and do HIIT for real 3x a week and it works. Add strength training for a bonus.

Not saying it is fun, but it is effective.

This. And 125 at your height of 5 7 is ludicrous (and you know it). You should be 135.

This is your problem. There is no trick. There is consistent work and eating low calorie dense high quality foods. But, it is a pain in the ass, and people do not generally have the discipline for that. So, here we are.

Op - would I be able to get something like ozempic or stepbound if I even wanted to? I don’t in general eat a ton but have had a lot of babies in a short period of time and just can’t lose the last 10-15 pounds. I gain 50-60 pounds each pregnancy and have 9+ pound babies. No diabetes.

Sure. You can get it online or through a Medspa if you can pay out of pocket. I think some say it's $500 a month but someone I know pays $650. I think you can even use your HSA for a little savings.

Not at 55! I’m an exercise fanatic, former college athlete. 55 hit hard. You basically can barely eat —weight literally comes on overnight.

I work my @ss off twice a day (healthy diet) just to stay 5 pounds (and not more) above the weight I was for the past 35 years.

^ meaning no matter what I do I can’t get back to that weight which was stable for 35 years

(Thyroid normal, bloodwork, etc)

I'd say try a consistent calorie/exercise target first. I am over 50 and have lost 12 of the 17 pounds I needed to lose to get back to my wedding day weight over the past three months. I have a 1500 calorie target, but focus on getting protein plus 2-3 fruits/veggie servings at each meal. I'm vegetarian, so breakfast is Greek yogurt with mixed berries or banana and high protein granola, lunch is cottage cheese with tomatoes and avocado, dinner is salad with egg or chickpeas, etc. Snacks are hummus and veggies/crackers, or apple and peanut butter, etc. I have a sweet tooth, so often have dessert and/or chocolate after lunch and dinner. I walk 10-12k/day slowly (mostly strolling with my DH or dogwalking), do a 30-45 min cardio workout, and add 20 min strength/yoga/pilates almost every day.

It's the first time I've stuck to a consistent plan and I feel AMAZING. No more bloating, it's easier to move my body, and my clothes are all loose. I rarely feel hungry and my snack cravings are gone. Wish I'd tried something like this years ago.

For me, I had to cut out diary, wheat, granola and banana in order to see the scale bulge. It’s not fun, but neither does feeling like 1st trimester on the drug.

This is really wonderful to read. I am also a 'needs snacks and has a sweet tooth' person and have been on a similar program. Well done!

I would LOVE to be your height and weight I eat 1400ish calories a day. No wine. Low sugar, low carb. Still a lot heavier. Good luck with what you want, but I bet you look great!
