I’ve usually worked in jobs with limited vacation time and I’ve owned a house soon after I moved out in my 20s so money often tight. I didn’t fly across the country as often as my mom wanted (my dad was ok with annual visits) so we started meeting up in fun vacation spots for long weekends. Our first trip was to NYC to see a lot of shows, museums, and we had so much fun, we returned for several more trips. We also had a great trip to Napa, another to San Francisco, plus Cape Cod. We stopped this fun tradition when I became a mom.
