Feel funny after eating too-ripe mango?

Mango allergy. I developed one in my 20s. Went from symptoms you are describing to my lips swelling up like Goldie Hawn. FYI - my allergist informed me that people who are allergic to Mango tend to be highly allergic to poison ivy as well…

I am also allergic to mango. It’s apparently a very common allergy. Hope you’re ok.

My DS had an oral allergy. He typically drinks some milk when something bothers him. Or you can take a Benedryll.

A friend told me not to cut too close to the pip because it makes your mouth tingle.

Someone told me the other day that they didn't realize that mango doesn't make everyone's throat tingle. That's a mild allergy and you can stick to peaches.

Allergy. Mango trees and sap is allergenic to most people but the fruit is ok. Make sure you wash it really well before cutting. DH is allergic to pineapple and still eats is just isn't happy about it

Do you have a latex allergy?

Update, OP?

Hope you’re doing ok OP! I also have this with fresh mango and even a little bit with canned (dried is ok for me). It’s a mild allergy, but even mild food allergies can turn serious, so I don’t eat fresh or canned mango anymore sadly.

Allergy. Don't eat mango again.
Watch out for cashews as well.
It can get worse even a day later. Have someone take you to ER or call 911 if lips swell or you get short of breath.
