Which practice is this? I’ve never seen an in-water helper be the only coach for a practice. That’s the point of the helper— to have an extra level of safety. We’ve been t/th evenings all year and never saw this once. |
NCAP-Burke does not |
We had a similar experience with the Marlins coach at Chinquapin-Alexandria. I reached out to the coach a couple of times to discuss specific goals my child had set for themselves and barely got a reply. It was so frustrating. We switched out and have advised others to look elsewhere for quality coaching. |
I posted exact details but it was deleted. It was on M/W’s for the 6 year old group. The in water JR coach/teenager had to come out of the water to Coach from the deck. |
It’s a shame they are that big and don’t care what’s going on in other locations.. They should consider downsizing for quality control, instead of trying to be at as many locations as possible… and then don’t listen to the parents that are always actually there. |
Good choice--they've been a toxic team for many years. |
Unless you’re referring to summer swim teams, this is 100% false. Don’t know of a single club team that does this. |
You should cite examples if you’re going make comments like this. We are a Marlins family and have been happy. To each his/her own.

That’s why you never should sign up for the Marlins! Go to any other team |
Yup we left and never looked back. The first day at the new club another parent recognized the Marlins purple bag and asked if we swam with them? I said how we just left and we ended up chit chatting and they had the exact same problem we did with the same coach the year prior. So this had been an on going issue. I asked if they brought it up to Bill they said the practice was so bad they didn’t even bother and left. |
