Any thoughts?

Both the Post and the City Paper have video. I think it's an exaggeration to suggest that she looked close to tears. But, she wasn't her usual self. She looked like she had been through a difficult meeting. Gray said that they talked about educational philosophies. My guess is that Gray discussed what he sees as her impact on DCPS and presented a vision of how things could have been done differently (and, more importantly, better). From the way Rhee looked, some of that may have gotten through to her.

She looked very uncomfortable. I don't blame her. Why does she need a police escort anyway? People hate her that much?

My 8 year old hates her that much. And he's a cheap shot.

Thanks for sharing the info about the video. Yes, she didn't look close to tears. Rather her eyes were darting around the room while Gray talked. I couldn't figure out if it was more like someone who was afraid someone would run up and stab her or whether it was more like someone being held hostage who was trying to both behave and send out a cry for help at the same time. Whatever was going on, she had decided that she wasn't going to put on a happy face and smooth things over. It certainly was the most vulnerable I have seen her. Interesting.
