Shows you watch on repeat

For me, it was Friday Night Lights for a while, somehow every month before my period. I found so much comfort in that show.

Then Mad Men (although I need to go back and finish again) and Sopranos - I definitely didn't appreciate the amazing acting the first time around.

What's yours?

Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Angel
Breaking Bad
The OA
The Middle
Battlestar Galactica (reboot)
Doctor Who

I have watched every Law & Order episode from the first generation of the show (1990-2010) many times over - on my own and also in the course of my work as a caregiver with elders who love the show.

The first several years of the show are my favorite when it was a bit more morally complex and the state didn’t always win. The show is very nostalgic to me because I watched it often with my parents when I’d visit them from college and it was one of very few points of connection I ever had with them in the years before we estranged.

I also utterly love The Waltons and watch it frequently at work and sometimes at home. Again super nostalgic because I loved it as a child it was my dream that I would be in a family like that someday.

On a higher order of quality (impeccable) is my all time favorite limited series which I have watched at least a dozen times - Prime Suspect with Helen Mirren. So bloody good!

I could watch the Snake Juice episode of Parks and Rec every day for the rest of my life.

I also rewatch Better Off Ted once every year or two. I wish there was so much more of it.

Since the pandemic I haven’t been able to sleep at night without the TV on and I typically stream Dateline, 48 Hours or 20/20 true crime episodes. I know them all except the new release ones so they don’t keep me awake and I guess I like them because I am a former prosecutor/defender and also because they remind me of the potential awful I avoided by not marrying or having kids.

Law and Order (OG)
Downton Abbey
Parenthood
Grey's Anatomy (stop after Mark & Lexie die)
Six Feet Under
Upstairs, Downstairs
Gilmore Girls
Better Off Ted
Modern Family
The Jewel in the Crown
Friday Night Lights

Obvs not all at once, but that is the main repeat rotation. If you're a Law & Order lover, you might like the current incarnation with Tony Goldwyn as DA. It's worth watching although the lead ADA is insufferable.

Jealous. I was very late to the game but watched last year and wish I was able to unwatch so I could rewatch.
