How much are you paying for your family's cell phone plan?

Real question- how necessary is it for the watches to have cell connections? Don't they pick up data through Bluetooth connection to the phone?

I guess meaning- how often really do you have the watch without your phone nearby?

Everyday. All day. Because now you can not have cell phones in the classroom.

Straight talk is fixed rate every month, no increases for 10 years.
We brought our own iPhones.
Family of 3 is $100 month

I recently changed to Mint Mobile, which runs off of T-Mobile's network. I prepaid for a year so I didn't need to think about it, it was $450/year for 2 phones. Haven't had any issues with coverage.

That's not bad considering we pay almost $200 for 3 phones and one Apple Watch.

I'm definitely calling AT&T to renegotiate our plan but wondering what everyone else is paying. I am also open to going with another provider.

We pay about half that for 6 cell phones on Google Fi.

Amazing that so many people on DCUM are just getting ripped off.

I had Fi, it’s fine but it’s not unlimited like VZW or ATT — I use my phone for a lot of things and a hot spot, and hitting 35Gb was pretty easy. Which is no big deal if it was just throttled to 3G. But it throttles to 2G (256 kbps), which meant things like maps and email no longer work. Even iMessages struggled. There is a limit on VZW att too, but it is much higher and throttles to 3G

You had google fi essentials. Google fi standard which is $125 for 5 lines has 50 gb fast data limit. Premium has 100gb limit for $160. Unless you are using the data to constantly stream music or videos you will never hit 20 gb.

Enabler of entitled children, I see.

We pay $265 w Verizon, 4 phones and 2 Apple Watches. Includes payments for the purchase of the phones and watches. Those are paid off in 4 months, so it will drop. Although the about 3 year old phones have ever decreasing battery life

5 lines costs me $181 after taxes and fees from AT&T. I just renegotiated last month. I find I don't need any wifi for my ipad since I have hotspots with m phone.

Google Fi is great generally but I notice I get no bars in Great Falls NP, C&O Canal, places near there. DH Verizon works great there.

Anybody know how much Verizon charges to add an Apple watch?

There was a similar post here a few weeks ago that spurred me to reevaluate our plan. We were paying $374 a month for 3 lines with Verizon.

I called Verizon and said, I want to pay $125 a month or I will switch to Mint Mobile. The customer service rep was really helpful and we switched plans and item by item we knocked things off our monthly bill (we were paying 4.99 for international plan, $7.99 for Apple Music, and $50 mo for devices).

I paid off the phones, switched to unlimited basic plan and we are now paying $125/mo.

A few things I learned
- each phone line can be on a different plan (ie teen needs unlimited data, DH doesn’t).
- we can upgrade to a plan that includes unlimited international calling before we leave for vacation, then switch back to basic plan when we return.

Hope this helps someone else

Are you a teacher? Keep it in your purse. If you are talking about a student, wow you need to cut those apron strings.

We pay $180 for four lines on Verizon. Thus hasn’t gone up in a couple of years. But separately, we have Verizon home Internet and it keeps going up and up and is now $95 a month.

Verizon, 5 lines unlimited, 2 apple watches but not cellular, $225/mo. We started at $175/mo but it's creeping up.

That's what we use. No problems, and can get subsidized new phones (about $200 discount) every 2 years. When we travel internationally we switch to the higher priced plan just for a month.
