| This is because of Trump and the Republicans. |
| I electric bill is usually around 400 a month in the summer. Last year it was close to 700. I can't wait to see what this summer is going to be. I guess we will just turn off the AC and suffer. |
| This applies to all PEPCO customers and not just DC customers right? I am in MoCo and have not received any notification from them |
Correct. If you look at the itemized breakdown column on the monthly bill, you’ll see a line where it says “Fee paid to directly to Donald Trump”. Then underneath that line, there’s a similar line that says “Fee paid directly to GOP”. On my bill from last month, the total was $427.09 Of that, $271.56 went to Donald Trump, and $41.11 went to the GOP. Of my entire bill, only $114.42 was for actual electricity, taxes and fees. The rest was stolen by Donald Trump and the GOP. Check your bills. See for yourself. |
Just DC customers it seems. MD and DC have separate regulatory agencies. DC’s regulator approved the rate increase. Not sure what happened in MD. |
Your house must be at least 4000 sq ft. Mine is 2000 sq ft and I average around $175 for July and August. I keep the house at 72. |
The RPS law required Maryland's renewable electricity supply to be at 32.6 percent in 2024 and 52.5 percent by 2030. But about 7 percent of the state's electricity needs were met by noncombustible renewable sources in 2022,
Ummm... if there is a limited supply of renewable energy and our laws require that we continually increase reliance on it... electricity will cost more. Trump and Republicans had nothing to do with that. But keep stoking your delusion. |
Yes he has issued an EO. Republicans are saying it will make you richer by paying more money to Trump. |
The plants in our region haven't closed and Pepco (Exelon) is reliant on nuclear, so those rates shouldn't be changing. This is just a money grab and is a reason why people opposed the merger with Exelon. |
Exelon has an over reliance on nuclear energy, and those rates are fixed. As such, our rates as consumers should not be going up, but they are, because they can. |
