I use airilo for nearly every trip once my Tmobile 5gb runs out. It’s very convenient.
The only issue I’ve ever had is iMessage getting confused about which phone number you use. Apparently the right solution is to use your Apple is for iMessage identification if you need to disable your us line to avoid outrageous roaming charges (Verizon) With Tmobile I can leave my Tmobile data on and everything is totally seamless. |
eSIMs worked perfectly for 2 out of 3 phones for us in Japan last summer. My phone however did not get any service until day 8 of our two week trip when it just magically started working. I have no idea what happened to make it start working. I don’t think I was doing anything wrong because I was the person that got it installed correctly on the other two phones. Customer service never responded to me.
This was through Ubigi so I would try it again but have a backup plan in place. I ended up renting a mobile hotspot for myself. |
