Dear Wheaton High School Families,

When approached by security, the student in question left campus. This is insane. MCPS is openly admitting they let a student who they suspected of having a gun on them leave campus without holding him for police to search and confirm if he had a weapon on him?
What if when he left the school campus he went and shot someone in the community?
Also, why doesn’t the letter indicate whether police were sent after the child left the school to see and search for a weapon? I don’t understand how MCPS approaches things like this.
