If only Kamala had won, then every U.S. university would be ranked number 1 !

But now they’ll all be ranked lower than Africa

Decades of DEI admits requiring remedial math and reading classes and DEI hires for professors and deans. Many of them plagiarize and cheat like crazy - all leading up to this mess.

<citation needed>

Look, just because right wing MAGA talking heads are saying this crap ABSOLUTELY DOES NOT MEAN IT IS TRUE.

You have what, two or three instances of "plagiarism" that you could point to, out of hundreds of thousands of university faculty and you think your two or three actually means something about the remainder?

Do you not even know how data works? Or how math works? 2 or 3 out of hundreds of thousands is less than 0.001%

Your anecdotes and talking points are not data, and you only show yourself to be a fool.

This is a coordinated attack on education at all levels, elementary through college. Fascists HATE an educated population.

Doesn’t matter if they do or not. However, it does affect us as a country.

The question is whether the US government’s standing in the world will affect rankings. This isn’t about what universities have or have not done to contribute to their rise or fall. As with other rankings of this sort, they are not entirely data-driven.

Stop trying to blame t-rump. Our top universities did this to themselves.

Even if you don’t, yes, it matters to you.
“Not my problem” and “doesn’t affect me” is what got us into this mess in the first place.

Do you ever seek medical diagnosis or treatment, ever? Then yes, it matters to you very directly.

Do you use anything scientific in your daily like? Electronics? Energy? Processed food, food that you didn’t grow in your own yard? Do you live in a home built with materials you didn’t cut down or dig up yourself? Do you use any transport besides your own two feet?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, then yes, it matters to you too.

Settle down, hon. Your kid isn’t responsible for anything that helped humanity yet. And lots of people who’ve made a real difference in the quality of my life have never set foot in an Ivy.

I've never had use for a doctor from a top university. Rumor has it the Doctors from those universities aren't even that good, because all the more motivated kids go into wealth management.

Seems like the US is the only modern industrialized nation where we have politicians openly attacking and attempting to dismantle our university system.

Even China and Russia aren't doing this. It's a shame and a disgrace.

And by denigrating and undermining our universities, we put the US in the back seat, where we will start falling farther and farther behind in terms of technology, research, et cetera, when we have for decades been pre-eminent leaders.

We stopped recruiting from American Universities preferring London School of Econ and Oxford starting couple yrs ago for Finance grads. The level of education really is better all around insofar as being well rounded outside of US.

I wonder if Trumps attack on Dept of Ed will cause our public education fall below it's current last place in the civilized world.

OMG this is sadly very true
my relative had to go to a “lesser” med school (30 applications, denied at all but waitlisted at one!) yet got into Hopkins for residency

Tells you this is yet another broken system and no wonder potential docs would rather go into finance
