So, no. Mixed metals are going strong according to VCA, Carrier, Graff. What is out and has been forever is silver. |
| When I mix black and navy on purpose I get a rush. Same with metals … it’s like purposeful for those who can tell, but those who are uptight will think I’m a mess. Wild times |
Seems my account of what looks good on me has weirdly struck a nerve with you. Platinum (and silver) is a classic that will never be out of style.
|
| My rings are mixed. My wedding ring is platinum and other rings are gold. I keep the mixed rings on at all times but I generally go all in on one metal for the rest, sometimes gold and sometimes silver |
| Good god, no! |
| It’s a very dated, ugly 80s look. |
I mean to be fair, you said mixing metals looks terrible on you but it sounds more like gold looks terrible on you so you don't mix metals as a result. Silver doesn't look great on me so I keep to gold necklaces and earrings and will mix in a mixed metal bracelet now and again. Idk what that poster is talking about silver being out. Maybe she means sterling silver as opposed to cool-toned metals like white gold and platinum. I have to agree sterling silver jewelry is such a pain to take care of. I swear you wear it once and it's tarnished forever. |
PP here - true, sterling is a pain to take care of! But I love my sterling pieces. Platinum is my favorite though. Clean and cool-toned. |
Hideous. So discordant and completely dated. |
| I have two watches (which I haven't worn in years but loved back in the day) and the two tone was more casual looking, with the solid gold was definitely dressier looking. I mostly wear gold metal bc it looks better on my skin tone. |
| All the time. I also have a cartier panthere two toned. The style and proportions, especially when stacking, are crucial, the colors not so much. But, in general, it's for the younger and edgier crowd. |
| It's an awful look. Reminds me of a door prize one might get at the office party in the 80s. |
| I keep trying to do so but just can't. It bothers me. But I look bad in any yellow gold anyway. |
|
That is a pretty ring. |
| Of course. Why wouldn't you? |
