We just did London and Scotland, and my b/g teen twins both loved it. |
We’ve done lots of things but I think the best were the Utah southern five national parks with a side trip to Antelope Canyons and Havasupai. We camped for both. |
Hawaii. My kids absolute favorite place. They also really enjoyed France as well, especially Normandy. |
Japan
Costa Rica London Paris |
My family with young teens really enjoyed Yosemite last summer. |
I was going to say there are some great national park experiences you can have at this age. Think of the hiking possibilities at Grand Teton! |
This is a great age for traveling and almost anything can work. I think it works better to start with what they DON'T like and narrow from there. So, for instance, if they are not good with schedule changes and have trouble sleeping, I would eliminate Hawaii and Europe and look at National Parks, Costa Rica, Belize, Caribbean cruises, etc -- stuff within 2-3 time zones up and down the globe. Think about stuff like how is their eating? If they really dislike trying new foods, I might focus on Italy, England, American National Parks, or cruises. (We had more issues in Latin America with food choice.) Traveling itself is a change and stretches kids -- so don't pick a trip that is going to ask them to stretch in too many ways, or it just won't be as fun. |
I would love to do this, but I don't know that it's the best trip with kids that age. |
Thanks all! They are good travelers and very adaptable. I appreciate the ideas. So many places I’d like to visit and take them as well. |
Iceland! When we went, many activities are half-price for young teens (& a few were free), adding to the feeling that they really enjoy kids of all ages there |
My kids loved London at that age. |
I would go somewhere YOU want to go and they will also like it. |
