ORD had a big construction project starting several years back to reorient most of their runways east/west to improve traffic flow. NYC are has been the #1 bottleneck for at least 5 years now.

I thought that tariffs/recession/inflation and hatred of American would lower tourism / travel which along with the corresponding poverty and death will drastically reduce CO2 from vehicle exhaust and human breathing.

Pretty hard, in fact. We live & work on the W Coast and travel for work. But even if retired, we have one son, wife and grandkids in the Midwest, one in nyc and one in Africa. Last I checked you can’t drive there. Oh yes, I forgot about parents and siblings in Canada. MIL broke her hip so we flew up to help her. What kind of life do you live where you never get on a plane?

The regular kind of life where it is too expensive to fly all the time.

You could not pay me to fly out of DCA right now.

And airlines are going to have to start charging more to make up for all those empty flights coming from Europe and Canada.
