What did it cost to add a 220V outlet for EV charging?

A Tesla charger is safer than any other outlet you have outside. It talks to the car digitally and only provides juice when it "sees" that you are plugged into the car. The rest of the time there is no electricity running through it. This is different from a regular outlet where there is juice running to the outlet all the time and you put in a plug and it runs through it. The Tesla charger will only run juice through if it recognizes that you are plugged into the car. It is vastly safer than other outlets.
