How about when you get sprayed by that UV fluorescent paint as soon as you try to break the lock on the truck? How about when they have gates beyond the doors and it takes you ten minutes to get them open (and by that time the police have arrived)? How about when they can use cameras that can identify you through retinal scanning? Or even voice prints that are recorded (although retinal would be better)? |
How about police aren’t really even going to do much at all other than issue a report # for an insurance claim? There was no human being put at risk or exposed to violence - therefore the response is not a priority call to begin with. It’s not a crime of violence, so jail time is very unlikely even if someone IS caught. Public sentiment on jury would also tend to fall towards the accused, since everyone knows the purpose of automated trucks is to put drivers out of work - and in a few years everyone will know someone who’s unemployed because of AI. Put simply - you’re going to be hard pressed to find anyone who gives a sh!t that someone is stealing from the robot that took people’s jobs. |
DP. Obviously you have never work in trucking, warehouse or retail sector. It takes time to unload a truck and hard work to unload a truck specially in the middle of a highway. Once unload you have to load in to another vehicle. You would be there way over an hour with traffic backing up. Anything if value has serial numbers. Fully assembled stolen computers will be bricked. What you are proposing would not work. |
If it is currently not, it won't be long until it is. |
Watch some videos of trucks and trains being looted in broad daylight in major cities. |
lol looting a truck in a major city? You will be lucky to get 3 blocks away. Let me guess you are a shut in and watch a lot of TV? You are pretty funny. |
Trains get looted all the time in downtown Los Angeles. Do a YouTube search.

Trolling huh? Pretty lame attempt bot. Reprogram and try again. Thousands of videos online that even a bot can watch. |
| I’m somewhat familiar with the trucking industry and know firsthand how hard it is to hire someone with a CDL who can pass a drug test. Add in being able to operate a manual transmission and your candidate pool is very small. Self driving trucks are going to be a necessity. |
