i thought this was a troll post at first. There are still parents holding out for the 2011s? Our teams have been decided a long time ago. Some even earlier than tryouts lol. As others have stated take the GA offers and move on. Nxt year will be just as insane movement wise. |
If you think your team is locked you clearly havent been involved in youth soccer for too long. Teams are still recruiting they dont care about your feelings or your kids time on the field. This is for ECNL and GA |
I’d rather go to a GA team and if it doesn’t work out be able to easily go back to a RL team, rather than stay on a RL team and hope to make GA next year. |
+1 |
This is simply factually not true. |
This. The girls, themselves, who are any good and already on good teams or could make the move to a good team, don't want to go to Alexandria. This is Alexandria parents flocking, en masse, here to try and convince parents, who don’t know any better, that Alexandria is a "great option" and "On the rise" and etc. Don't fall for it, or their lines about how the 20 whatever team is "so strong." The team may look good playing against rec+ competition but any girl who was any good left Alexandria already for ECNL or GA. |
Ignore this advise at your own peril, moms and dads. |
RL in this area is done. There are very few quality teams left and if rumors are true, arlington will also be gone next year. |
Reach out to Alexandria, good coaches, plenty of field space, and very commutable compared to other locations. |
This is a crazy response... My daughter just finished her first year of ECNL as a 2010. She didn't play RL, NPL, E64, etc. before that. She did play on a regional team with a solid coach and great teamates; they played the right way. If your kid is good enough, they can still make a high-level team past the age of 13/14 (smh). Also, if your kid isn't good enough, there is still time for them to commit to individual training and get there. |
Yeaaa but for which 2010 ECNL team. |
Does it matter, according to all ECNL parents in the DMV, as long as it is ECNL your set for life!!! lol |
ECNL is life! |
The poster didn't say "If your kid isn't on a top ECNL team by now as a 2011, they won't be." So I think my comment can stand on it's own. Having said that, my daughter's team with be heading to the ECNL playoffs this summer. I just think it's silly to say that if you aren't on a top team by age 13/14, they won't be. Some girls that are on those teams will burn out and quit. There are other girls (not on ECNL/GA, etc.) out there that will catch fire, train with a purpose, and make waves. One more example... my older daughter YG07 has a friend that just moved to ECNL as a Junior... she committed to a D1 program before making that move. There are multiple pathways to success! And success looks different for each player, don't get so caught up in all the hype. |
The posters intent was if your not on this XX ECNL team its because you didn't join early enough, prior to that all ECNL was good. So that is what the other poster meant by the ECNL life comment. Most posters on this board swear if you are not ECNL then you are not good. ECNL people like to strike fear as if you do join now then your screwed. Those same parents get cut and the ones that patiently waited and got developed take that kids spot. |
