Red flags during hiring process

Anonymous
Fairly new college grad, had gotten laid off my last job along with hundreds of other employees, and I needed a job. I checked out the company, learning a fairly recent CEO had been convicted of something financial and had gone to jail, don't recall what it was. This was quite a while ago. The corporation was highly profitable, but did not have coffee rooms for employees. The C-Suite had a free restaurant on their floor. That should have told me all I needed to know, but I needed a job so I took it. Culture involved rampant dishonesty, stabbing in the back, corruption, you name it. Toxic environments really do trickle down from the top.

That company was dissolved eventually. Even the company overlords understood it was beyond salvaging.
