Double sinks for kids?

2 sinks, the girls can have a vanity (desk with drawers and a mirror) in their bedrooms for hair and makeup

Good thinking. Those are not used much anymore, but have a Victorian Era charm to them.

Shared a bathroom with my sister growing up, and when my parents built our house, they decided to only do one sink in the bathroom we shared. It was totally fine and we had way more counter space.

Agree with 2 sinks; I have 3 kids and with 2 sinks they still sometimes fight over them. Vanity spaces in the bedroom are much more popular now with the rise of GRWM videos and tutorials; also prevents hogging of the bathroom

Op here- a current issue is how the blow dryer just falls into the sink because the outlet is right next to the sink. Are teen girls getting ready in their bedrooms with straighteners and blow dryers? Seems like a bathroom with gfci is safer for that and not wood or painted vanities in bedrooms.

Only having one sink would mean there’s more counter space for blow dryers and also more cabinet space. Sinks do take up room in cabinets.

I’ll have to measure the vanity but it seems there’s 6” between the two sinks currently.

This is definitely a first world problem but having one bathroom for all 3 hasn’t been easy. They all fight over the bathtub currently. All want to take a bath right before bed too. I assume in the future it will be the same with showers but at least showers are quicker.

Blow dryers should be used in the bedroom and not a wet area. Safer and less electrical hassle. Countertop space is not needed and a clutter point to attract tons of product and gather mold, hair, lint, and filth.

Blow dryers are put away in a drawer underneath after each use.
